West 29th Street Cantilever in Architect’s Newspaper

This top-heavy building starts out narrow, rising on a 25-foot-by-100-foot Chelsea lot, but at the sixth floor, it starts to widen, cantilevering over its neighbors to the east and west. Caliper Design principal Stephen lynch explained that the facade is clad in a custom-designed metal panel system that provides an irregular texture to the building’s surface.
