Lincoln Square Playroof

Designed for a busy community center in the public housing development behind Lincoln Center, this new 1200 square foot roof structure allows the center to reactivate a dormant rooftop play area. It is a protective shell that also provides shade and dappled sunlight though the irregular perforations in the stainless steel skin.

Designed, detailed, fabricated and installed by Caliper Studio, extensive 3D modeling and a precise field survey allowed this project to be prefabricated and brought to the the site in components to decrease installation time.

To learn more about the fabrication and installation process, see the project on Caliper Fabrication.
