Brooklyn Loft

Located on the top floor of a downtown Brooklyn loft building, this project involved a gut renovation of the apartment and a new rooftop enclosure. The design is organized around a feature stair connecting the main space to the roof top capsule. The stair hugs the wall of the living space before spiraling through the ceiling into the capsule. The latter is designed around a folding wood plane starting as the exterior deck and wrapping into the volume forming the wall and ceiling. The garage door opens up revealing the downtown Brooklyn views beyond.
