Bridgeport Atrium Roof

The rear courtyard of three, early 19th Century bank buildings provides a dramatic site for this 2500 sf steel and glass atrium. Caliper’s design approach responds to the irregular plan by incorporating a series of folding planes whose edges intersect at varying heights. A combination of flat and curved insulated glass panels perch on trusses that meet along a central spine.

The project is a featured part of an urban revitalization of downtown Bridgeport, CT and covers a dense commercial concourse of shops, restaurants, bars, and pedestrian traffic.
